Pastel Painting: Hello, The House

The subject is my own front porch, but the painting reminded me of a time in the early 1980’s when I was out driving on a lonely country road late at night and my car broke down.  This was before cell phones were invented, so the only way to get help was to find a phone.  I started walking.  About half a mile down the road I saw lights from the window of a country home and headed towards it, a bit uncertain yet relieved.  This painting gave me that same feeling.
